Originally built in 1872, this large Victorian house in the Hampstead Heath conservation area has undergone a major restoration and extension scheme. The works were carefully planned to create the domesticity of a modern six-bedroom family home incorporating an ornate atmosphere to reflect the building’s former life.
To provide additional guest facilities and entertaining spaces, a new pavilion, gatehouse and cottage were constructed. The restoration of historic features (including the exterior façade which featured Dutch gables, castellations on the tower and heraldic beasts) and external ponds to their original grandeur was an important part of the scheme.
