The creation of a new retail space within the Grade II listed Old Spitalfields Market, a high-profile heritage asset which lies within the Brick Lane Conservation Area.

The project comprised the construction of bespoke glazed extensions within the market square. The scope included the removal of existing floor finishes, the installation of new below-ground services, steel-framed glazed curtain wall structures, aluminium standing seam roofing, and external finishes comprising new granite and resin-bonded paving.

Due to the market’s high daily footfall, the scheme was particularly logistically challenging, and a considerate approach to project delivery was required.
