The creation of an enterprise hub, providing new services and AV facilities for Academy Fellows to support promising engineering entrepreneurs through mentoring, training and funding. Whilst the refurbishment and adaptation of this Grade I listed building’s three lower levels took place, the Academy remained in occupation.
The removal of a secondary stair and the reconfiguration of the principal stair created additional floor space. The original 5m-high brick interior was exposed to open up the original circulation routes and reinstate much of the natural light and ventilation.
